Medical Coding and Billing

This program is designed to prepare students for employment in various health care settings. The student may be employed as an entry-level coder, medical record coder, coding technician, coder clerk, or medical coder and biller, or as medical records and health information technicians.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates a demand for Medical Billing & Coding specialists to rise by 21% between now and 2024. 

Students will learn A&P,  medical terminology, disease process, as well as fundamentals of pharmacology. The student will learn how to use the ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 and HCPCS coding systems, as well as health care delivery systems, basics of medical records services, law and ethics, basic data processing, and employability skills. This is a 100% online program that includes 2 sessions of Live lectures every week to provide an actual interaction with the instructor.

This is a Diploma-Level Program Licensed by the Commission for the Independent Education of the Florida Department of Education.

Students can take this program in English or bilingual (Spanish).
