This 8-hour continuing education course is designed for Nurse Practitioners (APRNs) and other appropriately licensed healthcare professionals, in accordance with their professional scope of practice and applicable regulations. The course combines didactic instruction, case-based learning, clinical demonstrations, and supervised hands-on training.

During the course, participants will learn the fundamentals of the safe use of botulinum toxin type A, including functional anatomy of the face and neck, static and dynamic facial assessment, patient selection, product preparation and reconstitution, dose calculations, individualized treatment planning, injection techniques, complication prevention and management, clinical documentation, and post-procedure care.

Training covers applications involving the forehead, glabellar region, periorbital area, nose, perioral region, chin, masseters, jawline, and neck, as well as the treatment of axillary hyperhidrosis. Both FDA-approved indications and commonly performed off-label applications are reviewed, with an emphasis on anatomy, patient safety, appropriate clinical decision-making, and preservation of facial function.

The practical component allows participants to develop skills in dynamic facial assessment, anatomical identification and marking, product reconstitution, calculation of units and injection volumes, selection of treatment sites, injection depth and plane, and facial, cervical, and axillary treatment planning through supervised hands-on training stations.

Upon successful completion of the course requirements, participants receive a Certificate of Completion – 8 Contact Hours. This course provides professional education and clinical skills training and does not expand or modify the scope of practice associated with the participant’s professional license.
